Candidate McCain criticizes decades of US policy on authoritarian rulers

America has always sustained questionable relationships with authoritarian regimes (Iran, Chile, China, Pakistan). Sen. McCain's position is clear and representative of a new direction in foreign policy. I appreciate how much he values trans-Atlantic cooperation.
